Young Jake, the diner's owner, had grown up hearing stories about Mae's Kitchen being the heart of Yallashoot. His grandmother, Mae, had founded the diner back in the '50s, and it had been a staple in the community ever since. Jake had always been fascinated by the old photographs and recipes that lined the diner's walls.
