The film is set in the early 19th century and follows the story of Hugh Glass (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), a fur trapper and explorer who is mauled by a bear and left for dead by his companions. Against all odds, Glass survives and embarks on a perilous journey to seek revenge against those who betrayed him.
