The film picks up where Spider-Man: No Way Home left off, with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) still reeling from the events of the previous film. His actions have unintended consequences, opening up the multiverse and attracting the attention of a powerful entity known as Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). Wanda's grief and anger have driven her to seek out a dark and powerful version of herself from another universe, threatening the fabric of reality.
