The film picks up where the first John Wick movie left off, with John Wick (Keanu Reeves) having retired from his hitman life. However, his retirement is short-lived, as he is forced to return to work by Santino D'Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio), an old friend and fellow hitman. Santino wants John to help him take down a powerful Italian crime lord, and John agrees to do so. However, things get complicated when John discovers that Santino has been hiding secrets, and he must fight to survive.
