GTA IV is set in the fictional city of Liberty City, which is based on New York City. The game follows the story of Niko Bellic, a former soldier from Eastern Europe who immigrates to the United States in search of a better life. However, Niko soon discovers that his cousin Roman's promises of a luxurious lifestyle were exaggerated, and he finds himself in the midst of a world filled with crime, corruption, and violence.
