Set during World War I, follows two young British soldiers, Lance Corporal Schofield (George MacKay) and Lance Corporal Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman), who are tasked with delivering a message to stop an ill-fated attack on German forces. The mission is urgent, as the British Army is on the brink of launching a disastrous assault on German trenches, which would result in catastrophic losses.
